What Is the Process for Dental Crowns?
At Alpine Family Dental, we make the process of putting your new dental crown as quick and easy as possible. If Dr. Brett recommends a dental crown to protect your tooth, you will have an initial appointment to clean and prepare the tooth, removing decay or filling material as necessary. Afterward, we will build the tooth back up and put a temporary dental crown over it. You will wear the temporary crown while the lab creates your customized, permanent crown.
Your dental crown will be made of either zirconia, e.max, or gold. Zirconia dental crowns are often used for back teeth due to their strength and durability, while crowns made using e.max are ideal for the front teeth.
Two weeks after your preparatory appointment, you will return to our office to have the temporary crown removed, and your permanent crown put in place.
