Countless celebrities have picture-perfect smiles, and patients often wonder how they do it. But it might surprise you to know you don’t have to be a millionaire to have a smile fit for the silver screen. Dental veneers don the teeth of several celebrities and actors, resulting in gorgeous and confident grins.

At Alpine Family Dentistry, we offer dental veneers of the highest quality so you can finally have the smile you’ve always wanted. We can transform your smile with veneers or simply tweak your teeth to look brighter and more symmetrical.

How Do Dental Veneers Work?

Veneers are thin shells of material used to cover dental imperfections. Veneers are only placed on the front surfaces of teeth and can fix the following:

  • Broken, cracked, or chipped teeth
  • Worn or brittle enamel
  • Tooth size and shape discrepancies
  • Discolored teeth
  • Gaps or spacing between teeth
  • Slightly misaligned teeth

Veneers are usually made from porcelain, composite resin, or ceramic. Porcelain veneers look most like natural teeth because of the material’s light-reflecting qualities.

Can Anyone Get Dental Veneers?

Most people with healthy gums and bone structures are candidates for veneers. Veneers can change the size, shape, and color of your teeth while blending in with your natural smile.

However, the only way to truly determine your candidacy for veneers is to schedule a consultation with your cosmetic dentist, Dr. Brett Kocherhans, at Alpine Family Dentistry.

How to Care for Dental Veneers

Veneers become a part of your natural smile, so you can continue brushing and flossing as usual. However, veneer shells can be fragile, so we advise against chewing on hard or sharp objects like ice, nuts, and pen caps. Also, avoid abrasive toothpaste and other oral products that scratch the veneers.

If you have a habit of grinding and clenching your teeth, speak with your dentist about a custom mouthguard to protect your teeth and veneers from damage. Finally, visit your dentist for routine exams and cleanings.
